 Calculation of Due Dates

Maintenance and Service Planning (MSP) calculates the due dates of maintenance demands in the following sequence:

  1. SAP SCM determines the base date of the maintenance demand.

    1. If the preceding maintenance demand is already planned, SAP SCM uses the end date of the slot in which the demand is planned as the base date to calculate the due date of the next maintenance demand.

    2. If the preceding maintenance demand is not yet planned, SAP SCM determines the base date to calculate the due date of the next maintenance demand by adding the average duration of the preceding maintenance demand to the preferred start date of the preceding maintenance demand.

    3. An exception to the above occurs when determining the first demand of a maintenance cycle. For more information, see Synchronization Point .

  2. SAP SCM determines the compliance date of the maintenance demand.

SAP SCM adds the intervals from the SAP R/3 maintenance plans to the base date of the maintenance demand.

An exception to the above occurs when determining the first demand of a maintenance cycle. For more information, see Synchronization Point .

  3. SAP SCM determines the earliest, preferred, and latest due dates of the maintenance demand.

SAP SCM uses the time between the base date and the compliance date as 100%. SAP SCM takes the defined tolerance profiles (for example, 93% as the earliest date, 95% as the preferred date, and 97% as the latest date) to calculate the earliest, preferred, and latest due dates of the maintenance demand.

Calculation inInteractive Planning
  1. Your plan contains a work package with n maintenance demands.

  2. You make changes to the plan using the functions in interactive planning.

  3. For every maintenance demand in the affected work package, SAP SCM recalculates the due date of the subsequent maintenance demand.

Only the due date of the maintenance demand immediately following the demand(s) in the affected work package changes. The other subsequent maintenance demands in the chain are not affected.
