Promotion Planning

Use

This function allows you to monitor promotion results and execute reactive and dynamic promotions.

You can do the following:

Display your promotion planning data

Change the data

Cancel the promotion

Change the promotion dates

Change location products in the promotion

Edit cannibalization of the promotion

Prerequisites

You have already created a promotion.

Activities

In the SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) Web UI, choose Demand → Promotions → Promotion Planning .

Selection

In the Selection area, you can search for the promotions you want to work with by using the following selection criteria:

Promotion ID

Customer Promotion ID

Product

SNC Planner

Event Type

Promotion Status

APN Type

Promotion Origin

Date

For a given date, the system determines if there is a promotion going on.

To refine your search, choose Advanced Selection .

Choose Go .

Selection List

The Selection List displays the promotions and key dates that the system found based on your search criteria.

The table below describes the buttons used in the Selection List area.

Buttons on the Selection List Section

Use

View Data

When you select a promotion by selecting a box in the extreme left column, and you choose View Data , the system displays the promotion and planning data for one promotion in the Promotion and Promotion Planning sections.

Compare Promotion

You use this function to compare the promotion data of two promotions.

Compare Promotion requires that you select two promotions in the Selection List.

Delete Promotion

Removes all data for the selected promotion(s) from the system.

Allows you to change promotion dates.

Display

Returns you to display mode

Run

Simulates the effect of a date change on the promotion. The system recalculates the figures for the promotion, but it does not save them.

Save

Saves your changes

Reset

Returns data to its state after the last save

Cannibalization

The Cannibalization tab page displays the current cannibalization groups (if any) associated with the promotion:

Activates all the other buttons, which allows you to change cannibalization parameters

Display

Returns you to display mode

Create Entry

Allows you to add a cannibalization group to the promotion

Delete Entry

Allows you to delete a cannibalization group from the promotion

Cannibalization On/Off

Allows you to activate or deactivate cannibalization for the entire promotion . The cannibalization entries remain in the system, but are inactivated.

Run

Simulates the effect of any changes on the promotion

Save

Saves any changes that you have made

Reset

Retrieves data as of the last save

Select All

Selects all rows
Promotion Item

The system displays the following information:

Location/products assigned to the promotion

Total promotion quantity

Sales as a percentage of baseline forecast

Percentage overrides quantity if you enter both

Cannibalization on (indicator is set) or off for the promotion

For a location-product, if the indicator is set, it means that this location/product is cannibalized. If the indicator is not set, the location/product is being promoted within the promotion.

Cannibalization factor (percentage) by which this location/product’s sales affect the product being cannibalized

Promotion Planning

The Promotion Planning section displays the data for a promotion that you selected in the Selection List . This section is display only.

You can choose one of the following views:

Standard

Displays planning data of all key figures for the promoted product

Cannibalization

Adds cannibalization data to the standard view

Forecast

Displays only the forecast data key figures for the promoted products

Promotion Demand

Displays only the demand key figures for the promoted products
