 Trend Limitation

Use

For forecast models that calculate forecast values for products with a trend, you can limit this trend by default. In Service Parts Planning (SPP) you can activate a trend limitation for the following trend forecast models:

  • Second-order exponential smoothing

  • Seasonal trend model

  • Linear regression model

You have the following possibilities to define the trend limit:

  • You can define the limit as a percentage increase or a percentage decrease. The forecast curve is then smooth after an increase of x %.

You can define the increase value on the SAP Easy Access menu under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Service Parts Planning Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Forecast Next navigation step Forecast Profile End of the navigation path on the tab page General .

  • You can define the limit as a certain number of months. The forecast curve is then smooth after a defined length of time.

You can define this time in the forecast parameter Forecast Trend Limiter (time) on the tab page Model Parameter .
