Business Package Installation 

Purpose

Once you have downloaded a business package, you must upload the content objects to the portal so that you can use the business package.

Prerequisites

You must be logged on to the SAP NetWeaver Portal.

 

Process Flow

Depending on the portal release that your business package runs on, there are various different methods for uploading content objects to the portal.

• All business packages that run on a portal release earlier than SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP2 contains objects in EPA format and must be uploaded using the import function in the portal.
• All business packages that run on a NetWeaver 04 portal or higher contain objects in SDA and SCA format and must be uploaded using the Software Deployment Manager.
• All business packages that run on a NetWeaver 04s portal or higher can use the Java Support Package Manager (JSPM) for the upload process.
