Detailed Scheduling Planning Board You use the detailed scheduling planning board for the:
Graphical representation of the planning situation
You can graphically represent different aspects of scheduling in the charts of the detailed scheduling planning board. For example, you can show the situation of operations on resources over time and the development of the resource utilization or pegging relationships between orders over time.
Interactive solution of planning problems
You can perform interactive scheduling on the detailed scheduling planning board to solve scheduling problems such as sequence or date/time problems on resources . Various scheduling functions and heuristics are available in addition to manual scheduling with Drag&Drop .
The detailed scheduling planning board is integrated in different
Production Planning
applications. You can
call up the detailed scheduling planning board:
On the DS planning board, you schedule simulatively. For more information, see Scheduling with the Detailed Scheduling Planning Board .
SAP provides the detailed scheduling planning boards with standard settings (for example, for setup or layout). If you want to configure a detailed scheduling planning board for your specific scheduling requirements, you must make the appropriate settings. For more information, see
Profile Maintenance
and the Implementation Guide (IMG) for
Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling.
There are 2 toolbars above the DS planning board. The upper toolbar contains pushbuttons for the following functions:
Evaluations:
Alert Monitor
,
Plan Monitor
,
Logs
Planning functions:
Optimize
,
Reschedule
,
Deallocate
Undo last scheduling function
(This pushbutton is only active after a reversible function has been executed.)
When you invoke the detailed scheduling planning board for the first time, the selection area is shown in the left-hand part of the screen. You can control the display of the selection area via
Settings -> User Settings
and save the setting on a user-specific basis.
Note
The setting you make on the detailed scheduling planning board is independent of the setting in the resource planning table (see Configuring the Resource Planning Table ).
The selection area serves to provide an overview of the loaded products and resources and to show and hide objects (see Hiding and Showing Objects ).
In the selection area, two buttons are available enabling you to invoke the following two objects:
Resources
Contains all resources that have been selected and loaded onto the detailed scheduling planning board.
Products
Contains all products that have been selected and loaded onto the detailed scheduling planning board.
You can hide the buttons via
Close
. To restore the buttons, choose
and select the relevant indicator on the
Navigation Area
tab page.
In the user settings, you can generally control the display of the selection area and buttons.
You specify whether the work area is displayed as standard when the detailed scheduling planning board is invoked.
Via the
Active
indicator, you specify which button (resource or product pool) is to be opened when the resource planning table is invoked.
You can specify the width of the work area.
You can use the standard list functions for the objects displayed via the button.
The work area of the detailed scheduling planning board can consist of up to eight
charts
arranged over one another. You specify the configuration and layout of the DS planning board using a
planning board profile
.
The DS planning board displays the schedule for a time period defined by the user. You can change the schedule for a certain time period within the display period, the planning period . How you specify the time periods depends on where you call up the DS planning board.
Which concrete objects are displayed in the DS planning board depends on where you call up the DS planning board. For more information, see Selection of Objects to be Displayed .
You specify which objects (resources, products) you can schedule in interactive
Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling
using a
propagation range. You can specify resources and products in the propagation range. The resources in the propagation range are relevant to resource-related scheduling on the DS planning board. The products are relevant to product-related scheduling in interactive scheduling (for example, order processing). You cannot change the schedule for objects outside the propagation range.
