 Checklist: Bottom-Up Propagation of Characteristics

Use

The following checklist provides details the key prerequisites and procedures for the options for block planning, configuration or rule definition, and planning parameters. Take account of these when you define propagation for a production process model .

Structure

Meaning

Procedure

Prerequisites

Block planning

Propagation of characteristic value assignments to activities

Value assignment for activity is compared with required criteria for the block assigned to the resource

Classify requirement node (which characteristics are to be used for the component?)

Define standard value assignment or bottom-up propagation for activity

Activities must be classified in the same way as resources, define propagation if necessary

Block definition

Rules (configuration)

Rule definition for activity, i.e. selection (by restriction) of modes and logical components

Rule definition for logical components: Selection by prioritization of products

Classify component

Define propagation (with requirement node as source)

Classify plan, operation, or activity

Planning parameters

If activities are classified, the planning parameters of the dependent modes (PP= duration) and primary resources (PP= resource consumption) can be overwritten

If logical components are classified, the planning parameters of the dependent products (PP= material consumption) can be overwritten.

Classify component

Set planning parameter (define macro if necessary)

The assigned PPM component must be classified

Appropriate bottom-up propagation instructions must be defined
