Cost Estimates Based On iPPE You use this function in the Industry Business Solution
Discrete Industries
to cost materials that were produced with iPPE and that are therefore assigned to iPPE master data (a product structure and possibly a process structure).
You cost objects that have iPPE master data using existing the cost estimates of Product Cost Planning and Cost Object Controlling. The cost estimates are also displayed and analyzed with the existing report tools.
For business purposes, cost estimates of objects with iPPE master data are not new cost estimates . The user calls up the cost estimates with the existing functions, and the system checks whether a production version with iPPE access node exists for a material or product cost collector. If it does, the corresponding iPPE quantity structure for the cost estimates is used for the cost estimate.
For more information on cost estimates in Product Cost Planning and Cost Object Controlling, refer to the documentation on the following cost estimates of the standard SAP system:
Standard cost estimate
Sales order cost estimate
Order BOM cost estimate
Preliminary cost estimate for product cost collector (with iPPE quantity structure only in make-to-stock production)
The following exposition on
costing objects with iPPE master data
describes only the special features of objects with iPPE master data.
This cost estimate is only available in the Industry Business Solution
Discrete Industries
.
You can see whether a material has iPPE master data by checking the iPPE access object in the production version as follows:
Choose
Enter the required data in the screen
Production Version: Mass Processing
. Confirm the data and choose
iPPE access
. The view
iPPE Access Objects
displays the product structure and process structure of the material.
An iPPE quantity structure (iPPE product structure, possibly also an iPPE process structure) must exist for the materials to be costed.
The material is assigned to the iPPE quantity structure through the production version.
If you want to include activities in backflushes and costing , you must first establish a link in iPPE between the iPPE resource (or the mode) and Overhead Cost Controlling.
The following functions that are available when costing master data such as BOMs or routings are
not
supported in
Costing Objects with iPPE Master Data:
Co-products
By-products (materials with negative quantities)
External processing operations
Operation scrap
Inclusion of nonstock items
Special procurement type
phantom assembly
Activity-based costing
There is no
relevancy to costing
indicator in iPPE
Note
You can use the following procedure to prevent certain components and activities from being valuated:
Make customizing settings for these materials so that they have no accounting view or costing view in their material master.
Do not assign the activities in the resource to the cost center/activity type.
The customizing settings for quantity structure determination have no influence on these cost estimates. It is not possible to specify in the material master which quantity structure is used when the material is costed.
Reservations of materials in other plants, as well as withdrawals of materials from other plants, are ignored.
The assembly scrap factor defined in the material master is ignored in the iPPE cost estimate. The iPPE cost estimate only takes into account the assembly scrap defined in the iPPE access.
You execute the cost estimates as usual.
The system checks whether a material or product cost collector has a production version with an iPPE access node. If it does, the corresponding iPPE quantity structure for the cost estimates is used for the cost estimate.
In the cost estimate header, the system sets the
iPPE Costing
indicator so that you can tell what type of quantity structure was used.
In the itemization, you can use the
layout
function of the
ABAP List Viewer
(ALV)
to display the iPPE-specific fields (such as the product structure, iPPE activity, process structure, variant, alternative). The usual fields
work center
,
work center ID
,
suboperation
,
work center test
, and
operation number
are not available in this scenario.
