Recommendations for Maintenance Order Handling These guidelines are intended to aid you in working with maintenance orders in SAP SCM. These guidelines cover the main issues only
Maintain master data on the basis of scheduling in SAP R/3 or in SAP APO.
Create and activate integration models for the master data.
Create your own order types for plant maintenance (PM) and refurbishment orders that should be transferred to SAP APO.
Select the orders for scheduling in SAP APO in the integration model by using the filter objects order type and plant. Maintenance orders are material-independent objects.
In SAP APO, if you want to indicate operation types (such as internal, external), enter an operation type abbreviation in the operation short text.
To transfer downtimes in SAP APO, in SAP R/3, in the order header, enter the functional location or equipment in which a work center is entered. In addition, in SAP R/3, in the order header, in the
System Condition
field, enter a value for which the indicator
Production Work Center Reserved by Plant Maintenance
is set.

Maintain Work Areas
Maintenance orders are always fixed in SAP APO.
Process Order (Transaction code /SAPAPO/RRP2)
Enter the SAP R/3 order number in the selection field for the maintenance order.
For maintenance orders with
downtimes
on functional location or equipment, choose
Downtime
to view the relevant resources and downtimes.
For more information about processing orders, see Processing Receipts Manually .
Detailed Scheduling (DS) Planning Board (Transaction code /SAPAPO/CDPS0)
PM downtimes on a resource start and end according to the maintenances order start and end dates.
As no capacity requirements are transferred with maintenance orders, the operations are not displayed in the resource chart.
Maintenance and refurbishment orders are fixed; no scheduling is possible. Orders and operations are only for display purposes.
Component requirements can be integrated in the normal production situation.
Graphical overview:
In the resource chart, a downtime is shown as a gray background bar. By navigating to the resource, you display the entered type of the PM order downtime.
Order chart shows only the start and end dates of a maintenance order and a refurbishment order. The order is selected only through its components.
SAP default Customizing presents the normal order in BROWN_2, the final confirmed order in DARKGREEN, and the fixed order in RED_5. For more information, see Preparatory Activities for Maintenance Orders .
Product chart is relevant only if the maintenance or refurbishment order has a pegging relation (fixed/dynamic) to a production order, for example
For more information about the DS planning board, see Calling Up the Detailed Scheduling Planning Board .
Production Planning Run (MRP) (Transaction code /SAPAPO/CDPSB0)
You can use material requirements planning (MRP) for maintenance orders and refurbishment orders with components.
For more information, see Production Planning Run .
Pegging Overview (Transaction code /SAPAPO/PEG1)
Pegging relations of maintenance and refurbishment orders with components to other documents are shown (fixed, dynamic).
For more information, see Pegging .
Planning Version Management (Transaction code /SAPAPO/VERCOP)
Maintenance and refurbishment orders can be copied from active planning versions into simulation planning versions.
For more information, see Supply Chain Model, Planning Version, and Supply Chain Engineer .
Consistency Check (Transaction code /SAPAPO/OM17)
Operation and downtime inconsistencies of maintenance orders can be checked in SAP APO.
