Correlation Calculation

Use

In SAP APO, a correlation calculation takes place for those correlation groups for which an ATP check is also carried out in SAP APO. If an OLTP System (for example, SAP ERP system or SAP CRM) is connected to SAP APO, the correlation calculation corresponds to the delivery group correlation for sales document items and BOMs in the ERP system. The correlation calculation in SAP APO has been enhanced considerably in comparison to the delivery group correlation in the ERP system.

Features

The correlation calculation has been enhanced in SAP APO by the following functions:

  • A quantity correlation can also be carried out for the delivery group.

  • You can define how the system should behave for partial quantity confirmations.

  • You can define a correlation type.

Furthermore, you can activate or deactivate the correlation calculation in backorder processing.

  • You have the option of simulating the correlation calculation using the execution mode.

  • You can carry out the ATP check for the entire delivery group.

Note Note

If the calling OLTP system is an ERP system, you must be aware of the following: Only the date correlation can be carried out for delivery groups that contain items that are checked in the ERP system as well as items that are checked in SAP APO.

Activities

If you want the correlation calculator in SAP APO to behave like the delivery group correlation in the SAP ERP system, it is not necessary to make any settings. SAP delivers two standard correlation profiles that behave correspondingly.

If you would like to use the enhanced features of the correlation calculation, you can either change these standard profiles or define your own correlation profile. You do this in Customizing for SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO), under Start of the navigation path Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) Next navigation step General Settings Next navigation step Maintain Correlation Profile End of the navigation path

If you define your own correlation profile, you must also use the enhancement Change Correlation Profile.
