Planning with Characteristics

Purpose

The main purpose of this component is to use characteristics for planning products. You have two options:

  • You are using characteristics for characteristic-dependent planning (CDP) ; certain products are planned using characteristics. Receipts are consumed with requirements, based on identical characteristic values.

  • You are using characteristics for block planning . You define blocks in which the activities are to be planned with specific characteristic values on a resource. Orders are scheduled depending on their characteristic value assignments.

Integration

You are using the classification system for planning characteristics in order to define classes and characteristics.
