Phase-Out Planning The phase-out planning process calculates forecast values for products in discontinuation. You no longer consider these products during current production. However, you must continue to store these products for a certain length of time, for example for service or for legal reasons. For phase-out planning, the system only considers location products at entry locations.
You have created phase-out groups and defined their characteristics in Customizing for
Advanced Planning and Optimization
under
in the IMG activity
Define Phase-Out Group.
For more information about phase-out groups and phase-out profiles, see Phase-Out Profile .
You have assigned the phase-out group you defined in Customizing to the forecast profile of the corresponding location product on the
SAP Easy Access
screen under
on the
General
tab page in the
Phase-Out Group
field.
For the location product in discontinuation, you have entered a production end date in the location product master data on the
SPP Inv. Balancing/Surplus
tab page in the
Production End Date
field.
You have defined the following service profilesfor phase-out planning in the Planning Service Manager (PSM):
Generate phase-out profile
Phase-out forecast
Adjust phase-out forecast
To do this, you have carried out the IMG activity
Define Forecast Service Profiles
in Customizing for
Advanced Planning and Optimization
under
.
You have defined a
planning profilein the PSM for phase-out planning. To do this, you have carried out the IMG activity
Define Planning Profile
in Customizing for
SCM Basis
under
Planning Service Manager
as follows:
You have created a planning profile under
Header Data
.
You have entered a selection name and a process profile in the
Process Block field
.
Note
Unlike in phase-in planning, you define the selection and the process profile on location product level.
You have entered the planning service
SPP_PHASE_OUT
as well as the service profiles defined by you in the
Planning Profile Service List
.
For more information, see Use of the Planning Service Manager in SPP and PSM Services for Forecasting .
In the
Generate Phase-Out Profile
planning service the system creates a phase-out profile for the selected location products. For more information, see
Execution of the “Generate Phase-Out Profile” Planning Service
.
In the
Phase-Out Forecast
planning service the system calculates forecast values for the selected products in discontinuation. For more information, see
Execution of the “Phase-Out Forecast” Planning Service
.
In the
Adjust Phase-Out Forecast
planning service the system adjusts the forecast values for products in discontinuation by comparing the actual sales values with the forecasted values. For more information, see
Execution of the “Adjust Phase-Out Forecast” Planning Service
.
You can see and edit the results of the planning on the
SAP Easy Access
screen under
.
If you only specify a phase-out profile, you can see it here.
If you specify a location product in discontinuation, the system automatically chooses the corresponding phase-out profile, and you can see the forecast values of the location product as well as the corresponding phase-out profile. If you specify a phase-out profile that is not assigned to the location product, the system overwrites your entry with the assigned profile.
If you choose the
Run Forecast
pushbutton, the system carries out a phase-out forecast for the relevant location product, and you see the yearly forecast values.
If you choose the
Change
pushbutton, you can change the forecast results of the
Manual Forecast (Demand)
indicator. You can also make changes in the
Demand: Discontinuation Year
indicator, albeit only in the discontinuation year field of the relevant product.
If you choose the
Distribute
pushbutton, you can change the results of the
Demand: Forecast
or
Demand: Manual Forecast
indicators for all periods according to your entries in the
Operator
and
Values
fields. If, for example, the
Demand: Forecast
indicator is chosen as the operator and the value
50
is chosen, the system adds 50 pieces to the value of the each forecast period selected.
When you save the forecast values, the system takes the values of the
Demand: Forecast
indicator as the final forecast of the demand, unless you have made entries in the
Demand: Manual Forecast
indicator. If you have, the system takes your entries here as the final forecast of the demand for the relevant periods.
