Generating the Demand History The demand history forms the basis for the forecast and for further planning processes in Service Parts Planning (SPP). It contains the demand data for your location products.
In the first step, the system captures the historical data . The system adjusts this historical data to meet the requirements of service parts planning. The requirements include the following:
The demand history exists at location product level.
The demand history exists in various time granularity levels, such as in weekly and monthly periods.
The demand data exists in scaled form.
Supersession is taken into account in the demand history.
The demand data is aggregated along the bill of distribution (BOD).
In the second step, the system maintains the historical data , meaning that it reorganizes the demand history by considering various events, for example:
A future BOD is assigned to a product or will be valid.
A supersession is created and the successor product planning date will be current.
There is a changed stocking or destocking decision for a location product.
SPP stores the captured, reorganized order data in the SAP APO Business Intelligence system (BI system) of SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM), both as raw data and as a demand history.
You can maintain the historical data in the following ways:
You can load order data from SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) to SAP SCM.
You can load order and stock transfer data from SAP ERP to SAP SCM.
Note
You can load order data from the SAP ERP component SD and stock transfer data from the SAP ERP component MM.
Order data that conforms to the structure of SAP CRM order data can be loaded to SAP SCM from a flat file.
Order and stock transfer data that conforms to the structure of SAP CRM order and stock transfer data can be loaded to SAP SCM from a flat file.
