Master Data Setup

Purpose

This process describes the sequence in which you create the master data in Advanced Planning and Optimization ( SAP APO) for Capable-to-Match planning ( CTM planning). You can transfer the master data from an SAP R/3 system and postprocess it in SAP APO or create it directly in SAP APO .

Process Flow

You create a supply chain model in either the Supply Chain Engineer or in Model and Planning Version Management.

You specify the supply chain model later in the CTM Profile . CTM planning only uses the master data that you have assigned to this supply chain model.
You create a planning version for the supply chain model.

You specify the planning version later in the CTM profile.
You create the following master data and assign it to the supply chain model:
- Locations
- Location Products
- Quota Arrangements
- Resources
- Sources of supply:
  - For products that are produced in-house, you create production process models (PPM) or generate production data structures (PDS) from Integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE) data or from SAP R/3 data.

  - For products that have been procured externally, you create Transportation Lanes between the locations.
