A requirements, stock or receipt element is in a specific pegging area. Only stock and receipt elements that lie within the same pegging area can be assigned to a requirements element. The stock and receipts of a pegging area can only therefore cover the requirements from the same pegging area.
The pegging area is identical to the planning segment in SAP R/3, with the exception of the planning version. In SAP APO the term "planning segment" is often used as a synonym for "pegging area".
