Use this window to automatically enter or update numerous serial numbers for the item.

This window is opened for inventory receipt transactions:

  • If the management method defined for the item is On Every Transaction (  Item Master Data   General   tab), the window opens automatically when you choose the Add button.

  • If the management method is defined as On Release Only, and the Automatic Serial Numbers Creation on Receipt option is not selected, place the cursor in the Quantity field and do one of the following to open the window:

    • Press CTRL + TAB.

    • Right-click and choose Batch/Serial Numbers.

    • From the Goto menu, choose Batch/Serial Numbers.

Doc. No.

The number of the document.
Total Needed

The total number of serial numbers you must define for the item in the specific row.
Total Created

(only in Add mode)

Total number of serial numbers you have defined for the item.
Mfr Serial No.

The manufacturer serial number of the item.
Created Serial Numbers Area
Mfr Serial No.

The manufacturer serial number of the item.
Serial Number

The list of created serial numbers.

In Add mode, the lines are empty until you manually enter or automatically create serial numbers.

In Update mode, the list of existing serial numbers is displayed.
Bin Location

Note Note

The field is available only if you have enabled bin locations for at least one warehouse.

If you have not enabled bin locations for the warehouse displayed in the Rows from Documents table, this field is blank and not editable.

Specify the bin location where you want to store the serial item.
Automatic Allocation

Select the method by which items are automatically allocated to warehouses or bin locations during receipt. You can select one of the following methods:

  • Default Bin Location - Allocates items to their default bin locations

    Note Note

    If the default bin location has been enforced, the item is always allocated to its default bin location regardless of which option you have selected in this field.

  • Last Bin Location That Received Item - Allocates items to the bin locations that have been used in the latest inbound transactions of the corresponding items. If there is no inbound transaction of the item, then no automatic allocation will be carried out for this item.

  • Item's Current Bin Locations - Allocates items to the bin locations that are currently being used according to the alphanumeric order of the bin location codes

  • Item's Current and Historical Bin Locations - Allocates items to the bin locations that have been used or are currently being used according to the alphanumeric order of the bin location codes
Reallocate Bin Locations

Note Note

The field is available only if you have enabled bin locations for the warehouse displayed in the Rows from Documents table.

To reallocate the serial items to a new bin location, choose the pushbutton to open the Bin Location Reallocation for Serial Numbers Window.
Automatic Creation...

(only in Add mode)

Opens the Automatic Serial Numbers Creation window where you enter the necessary details for serial number creation.
Global Update

(only in Update mode)

Opens the Serial Number Global Updates window where you make necessary changes to existing serial numbers.
