Procedure documentationCreating Multiple Pick Lists Locate this document in the navigation structure

With the pick list generation wizard in pick and pack, you can create multiple pick lists for selected sales order and A/R reserve invoice document rows.

While creating pick lists using the pick list generation wizard, you can split the pick lists by the following:

  • Warehouse

  • Warehouse sublevels

  • Bin location attributes

By splitting pick lists, you can facilitate the picking process and greatly improve the picking efficiency. For instance, in the below example, if you split pick lists by warehouse, two pick lists are generated. You can send two pickers, one to each warehouse to collect the items for delivery.

Prerequisites

You have enabled bin locations for your warehouse.

For more information, see Enabling Bin Locations

Procedure

  1. From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose   Inventory   Pick and Pack   Pick and Pack Manager  .

  2. In the Pick and Pack Manager - Selection Criteria window, specify the selection criteria and choose OK.

  3. In the Pick and Pack Manager – Open Drawer, select the sales order and A/R reserve invoice rows for which you want to create the pick lists, enter the quantity you want to release to the pick lists, and choose the Released to Pick List pushbutton.

The Pick List Generation Wizard opens.

  4. In the Pick List Generation Wizard, proceed according to either of the following:

    • If one or more sales order and A/R reserve invoice rows you selected in the previous step contain warehouses which have bin locations enabled, proceed as follows:

      1. In step 1, specify the warehouse sublevels and attributes for the bin locations from which you want to pick the items.

      2. In step 2, select the parameters by which you want to split the pick lists. In addition, select the method by which the items in the pick lists are automatically allocated from the bin locations.

      3. In step 3, specify the general information about the pick lists, such as the pickers and pick dates.

    • If none of the sales order and A/R reserve invoice rows you selected in the previous step contain warehouses which have bin locations enabled, proceed as follows:

      1. In step 1, specify whether you want to split the pick lists by warehouse.

      2. In step 2, specify the general information about the pick lists, such as the pickers and pick dates.

  5. Choose the Generate pushbutton.

Example

You company has two warehouses – warehouse A and warehouse B.

The two warehouses have the same following structure:

  • Warehouse Sublevel 1 – Wing

Sublevel codes – WINGEAST and WINGWEST, which refer to the east and west wings in each warehouse, respectively.

  • Warehouse Sublevel 2 – Section

Sublevel codes – SECTIONA and SECTIONB, which represent section A and B in each wing.

  • Warehouse Sublevel 3 – Shelf

Sublevel codes – SHELF01 and SHELF02, which stand for shelf 01 and 02 in each section.

There is no sublevel 4, as shelf is the smallest unit of space which is also the actual bin location in the two warehouses.

Therefore, you have the following bin locations in the two warehouses:

Note Note

To represent the following bin locations in the splitting rules in a more convenient manner, a short code is assigned to each bin location. These codes are randomly picked for demonstration purposes only.

End of the note.

Now you want to create pick lists for several sales order and A/R reserve invoice document rows which commit items from both warehouses. Assume the committed items are stored in all sixteen bin locations in the two warehouses; you can create multiple pick lists, as in the following examples:
