The quick copy log provides detailed information about the changes that the application makes when copying data to targets. The quick copy log consists of various windows, which you can use to drill down to more detailed information.

The quick copy log includes the following windows:

  • Quick Copy Log Manager – Displays a list of all copy processes previously performed for the current company. For each copy process, this window also includes information about the source, target, and total number of records that the application copied, failed to copy, or did not copy.

  • Quick Copy Log Details – Provides an overview of the copy settings for a specific copy process and the name of the user who copied the data.

  • Quick Copy Log Category Details – Displays a list of all the objects that the user selected to copy from the source to the target during a copy process. For each object, the window displays the number of records that the application copied, failed to copy, or did not copy.

  • Quick Copy Log Instance Details – Displays a list of the records that the application copied, failed to copy, or did not copy for a selected object. For records that the application failed to copy or did not copy, this window includes descriptions of the possible causes and links to relevant help topics.

Procedure

To work with the quick copy log, do the following:

  1. In the menu bar, choose   Quick Copy   Open Log File  .

    The Quick Copy Log Manager window appears, which displays a high-level overview of all copy processes.

  2. To view information about the application settings for a specific copy process, in the Details column, click the corresponding Link Arrow (Link Arrow).

    The Quick Copy Log Details window appears, which displays an overview of the copy settings.

    To return to the Quick Copy Log Manager window, choose the Close button.

  3. To view detailed information about the specific objects that the application copied during a copy process, in the Quick Copy Log Manager window, double-click the corresponding row for the copy process that you want to view.

    The Quick Copy Log Category Details window appears.

  4. To view detailed information about the specific records that the application copied, failed to copy, or did not copy for a specific object, in the Details column, click the corresponding Link Arrow (Link Arrow).

    The Quick Copy Log Instance Details window appears.

  5. To view relevant help topics for records that the application failed to copy or did not copy, in the Help column, click the corresponding link.
