Procedure documentationDefining Imported Goods Locate this document in the navigation structure

You define the goods you are importing to enable the proper calculation and allocation of landed costs. For example, if you want to allocate landed costs according to weight or volume, specify the dimensions of the item as well as the volume and weight. If the item you are importing is liable to customs, link it to a customs group.

Prerequisites

You have defined the units of measure in the setup of SAP Business One:

  •   Administration   Setup   Inventory   Length & Width UoM

  •   Administration   Setup   Inventory   Weight UoM

Procedure

  1. From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose   Inventory   Item Master Data   and open the relevant item record.

  2. On the Purchasing Data tab, enter the length, width, height, volume, and weight.

If the item you import is liable to customs fees, enter also the customs group. For more information, see Item Master Data: Purchasing Data Tab.

    Note Note

If you only enter a value for the dimensions and no unit of measurement, the system automatically inserts the unit of measurement you defined in the setup. You can also enter a different unit of measurement.

    End of the note.
  3. Choose the Update button.
