SAP Business One enables you to select batch items in the Batch Number Selection window when you create or update a sales order or an A/R reserve invoice. To open the window, place the cursor in the Quantity field in the relevant sales order or reserve invoice row and do one of the following:
Press CTRL and TAB.
Right-click and choose the Batch/Serial Numbers option.
From the Goto menu, choose the Batch/Serial Numbers option.
Note
In sales orders, an allocation of the batches with Locked or Not Accessible status is possible.

Closing or canceling a sales order automatically cancels its batch allocation
The following procedure shows you how to select batch items in the sales orders, and the same applies to the A/R reserve invoices:
You have created at least one item managed by batches.
From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose
.Create a sales order with an item managed by batches.
Open the Batch Number Selection window.
In the Batch Number Selection window, enter the quantity for the batch(es) you want to allocate to this sales order, move the batch(es) to the Selected Batches, and choose Update.

If a batch you select has already been allocated to other documents, enter the quantity for this batch in the Selected Qty field according to the following rule:
Selected Qty ≦ Available Qty - Allocated Qty
SAP Business One also enables you to deselect the batch from the allocated document(s) from within the Batch Number Selection window. To do so, open the document(s) by choosing (Link Arrow) next to the document number in the First Allocated Document field.

In the Sales Order window, choose Add.
Note
You cannot update the batch item allocation in a sales order if it is fully copied to a target document.
From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose
.Open the sales order you want to update.
Open the Batch Number Selection window.
In the Batch Number Selection window, do the following:
To deselect allocated batch items in this sales order, move them from the Selected Batches to the Available Batches. If required, select the batch again and enter a new quantity.
To select new batch items, enter the quantity for the batch(es) and move them from the Available Batches to the Selected Batches.
Choose Update.
Note
If a batch you select has already been allocated to other documents, enter the quantity for this batch in the Selected Qty field according to the following rule:
Selected Qty ≦ Available Qty - Allocated Qty
SAP Business One also enables you to deselect the batch from the allocated document(s) from within the Batch Number Selection window. To do so, open the document(s) by choosing (Link Arrow) next to the document number in the First Allocated Document field.

In the Sales Order window, choose Update.
Note
If you copy the sales order to a target document and add the target document, the Batch Number Selection window opens automatically. The allocation of the batch items in the sales order is preserved, and you can confirm or update it.
