You can display and print sales A/R and purchasing A/P documents for foreign business partners in their own languages by translating field values to foreign languages in SAP Business One windows.

In addition, you can specify the foreign descriptions in the master data windows, for example, the Foreign Name field in the Business Partner Master Data window. This name is printed in documents when you select a layout in a foreign language.

Prerequisites

  1. You have activated multi-language support by choosing   Administration   System Initialization   Company Details   Basic Initialization   tab and selecting the Multi-Language Support checkbox.

  2. The required languages have been set up in   Administration   Setup   General   Languages  .

Procedure

Translating fields to foreign languages
  1. Open the window in which you would like to translate field values, for example, the Item Master Data window.

  2. From the View menu, choose   Indicator Display   Translatable Fields  .

    The Translatable (Translatable) icon appears next to the fields that can be translated and used by the multi-language support functionality.

  3. Place the cursor in the required field and from the Goto menu, choose   Translate   or choose Translations (Translations) in the required field.

    The Translations window appears.

  4. In the Language column, select the languages to which you would like translate the selected field.

  5. In the Translation column, enter the translation of the value in the foreign language(s).

  6. To create the new translation(s), choose the Add button.

Viewing translated fields in sales A/R and purchasing A/P documents
  1. Open a document, for example, a sales order, and select the display language on the Logistics tab.

  2. From the View menu, choose the Translated Values option.

    The translated fields appear in gray according to the defined language of the customer or vendor.
