Features

The Proxy Page iView is a start up page. It is the same as the Proxy Page (Item) in the item management context, and the Proxy Page in the portfolio context. Proxy pages are related to the navigation panel.

You must set a proxy page as the start up page for each portal RPM role. After a new portfolio is selected in the Change Portfolio list, this page is called. Then this page forwards to the official startup page for the current user and the newly selected portfolio.

In general, while in the application, the list of links that are displayed in the navigation panel area vary depending on your current context (portfolio type), your role and more. If you are already in a current portfolio then the list associated with that portfolio is used, otherwise your default portfolio is used.

If you have not set up a default portfolio, the first link in the list of all portfolios to which you have access will be used. What that first link is, will not be known when you will have set up your portal business package, because the lists of links are context dependent. Therefore, you must always set a proxy page as the start up page for each portal RPM role. Then the proxy page (the contained WebDynpro application) determines the very first link in the navigation panel and automatically forwards you to that page.

If there is no link at all in the navigation panel, the proxy checks if Application Parameter "IsAdmin" is true:

If it is true, then the first page for an administrator is taken.

If it is false, there is no link the proxy can go to. In that case you will see a message and a Change Portfolio link (assuming you have access to other portfolios than the current one.)

Via this Change Portfolio link, you can then set your default portfolio by selecting among the Change Portfolio:

...

                            a.      Click the Change link to open the Change Portfolio list.

                            b.      Select a different portfolio, OR

                            c.      If you want the current portfolio to be the default, set the Set Selected Portfolio as Default indicator at the top of the list.
