Use

cFolders uses an object-related authorization concept.  An object-related authorization allows the user to perform an activity on an object.

Features

cFolders has six authorizations:

       1.      Read

A user with this activity can access the object to look at the content.

       2.      Write

Write authorization includes read authorization. The user has the additional authorization to change the object. In a document, the user can change the name and description, create new versions, and overwrite the content of the current version. This authorization can be restricted using the Write Lock indicator or using a status.

       3.      Create

It is possible for a user to have authorization to create folders, folder objects, collaborations, status profiles, and user groups. To delete an object in a folder, the user also needs write authorization for the folder.

       4.      Administration

Administration authorization includes write authorization. The user has the additional authorization to assign authorizations, by assigning other users to the object with an activity.

       5.      Delete

Delete authorization allows users to delete cFolders objects. To delete a folder object, such as a document, the user also needs write authorization for the folder.

       6.      None

A user with this activity cannot access objects. The user cannot see either the content of the object or the metadata of the object, such as name and description. It is useful to assign this activity only if a user has authorization for an object that is derived from either inheritance of authorizations for higher-level objects or the use of user groups or roles in authorizations.
