Function documentation Item Overview  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Here, you can enter, change, or delete data of a single item.

You navigate to this iView by choosing Portfolio Management. In the item dashboard, select a particular item. The item dashboard is located in the portfolio management and item management contexts. When you open a single item, the name at the top of this screen is Overview.

Prerequisites

The overview is categorized in trays. You can determine which fields are available in the trays in Customizing, by choosing SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP xRPM) Global Customizing Global Field Settings.

If you use SAP xRPM 4.0 prior to SP7, you must have run the report /RPM/SET_ITEM_ICONS to calculate the icons in this view.

 

Features

        To expand or collapse all trays: Click the overlapping triangles icon at the top right.

        To expand/collapse individual trays: Click the icon at the top right of respective tray.

Note

The Expected Commercial Value field will be calculated and populated after you have entered data into the following fields and have saved the data:

         Probability of Technical Success

         Probability of Commercial Success

         Net Present Value

         Development Cost

         Launch Cost

General Information

Here, you view or change general information about the item in the fields described below.

Name

Mandatory

The item name is an alphanumeric field.

Item Type

Display only

This field displays the item type for this item.

External ID

Mandatory

This is a unique identifier for the item and is an alphanumeric field. You may overwrite it with another unique identifier.

Description

Optional

View or update description of the item.

Bucket Name

Display only

The bucket name is displayed based on the bucket in which the current item is created.

Proposal

Display only

Displays the checkbox indicating whether this item is in the proposal stage or not.

Location

Optional

You may change the location by selecting it from the drop down menu. This selection is useful in analyzing projects as per location.

Category

Mandatory

You may change the category by selecting the category from the drop down menu. Categorization is reflected in grouping and reporting.

Subcategory

Optional

You may change the subcategory by selecting it from the drop down menu.

Technology Type

Optional

Select the technology type from the drop down menu.

Probability Technical Success

Display

This field displays the probability of technical success based on the scoring model specified at the bucket level. The icon next to the field displays Item Scoreboard. For more information, see the Item Score. The scoring model used is specified in the parent bucket.

Probability Commercial Success

Display only

This field displays the probability based on the answers to the questionnaire associated with it. Click the questionnaire icon next to the field to bring up the questionnaire. The questionnaire displayed here is specified in the parent bucket. For more information, see Questionnaires.

Priority Group

Optional

You may change the priority by selecting from the drop down menu.

Priority Icon

Display

This displays the icon indicating the priority. The icon used to designate the priority level is selected during configuration.

Assessed Risk

Display only

This field displays the risk assessed based on the answers to the questionnaire associated with it. Click the questionnaire icon next to the field to bring up the questionnaire. The questionnaire displayed here is specified in the parent bucket. For more information, see Questionnaires.

Risk Icon

Display

This visually indicates the risk based on the assessed risk, above. The icon used to designate the priority level is selected during configuration.

User Name

Updated by the system

This field displays the name of the user creating the item.

Financial Overview

Here, you view or change the financial attributes of this item.

You may revise the currency used in the project associated with this item by selecting from the drop down menu.

Period Breakdown

View or change the time unit in which the financial information needs to be viewed and controlled by selecting from the drop down menu.

Here, you view or change the attributes related to resource capacity.

Date from which project is/was planned to start. Overwrite the date manually or choose the date picker next to the field to specify the new date.

Plan Finish date

Date by which project is/was planned to be completed. Overwrite the date manually or choose the date picker icon next to the field to specify the new date.

Forecasted Start Date

Optional

Date from which project should start as per forecast. Overwrite the date manually or choose the date picker icon next to the field to specify the new date.

Forecasted Finish Date

Optional

Date by which the project is forecasted to be completed. Overwrite the date manually or choose the date picker icon next to the field to specify the new date.

Actual Start Date

Optional

Date on which the project actually started. Overwrite the date manually or choose the date picker icon next to the field to specify the new date.

Actual Finish Date

Optional

Date on which the project actually got completed. Overwrite the date manually or choose the date picker icon next to the field to specify the new date.

Current Decision Point Status

Here you can update information on the current decision point, among the several that may have been defined under Decision Points.

Planned Start

Specify or update the planned start date.

Specify or update the actual finish date.

Authorizations

Here you can add or remove users and update their authorizations. It is necessary to provide some authorization to each user. Certain users shall inherit authorization to the item due to authorization to the parent object. To view the inherited user list, choose View inherited user list.

Add/Remove Users

      To add a user, choose Add user manually. The Search User is displayed. Use it to select the resource to whom you wish to provide access.

      To remove a user, click the box to the left of the user name. Then choose Remove. Inherited users cannot be removed.

      To provide authorization to newly added users, check any boxes under Admin, Owner, Read, Write, None, or Leader.

      To remove an authorization, uncheck the box by clicking it again. Click the icon to at the top right corner of the tray to display description of each authorization.

Comments

This is an optional field. The box on the right displays the comments log.

Additional Information

The administrator may add custom fields to store additional data specific to the organization. These are displayed here. If you have custom fields, here you may view or update them as appropriate.

Escalation

Set this indicator, if you wish to have this item included in the list of escalated items.
