Function documentation Object Links  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Here, you can link a SAP xRPM item or task to business objects supported by base SAP system such as, sales orders and purchase orders in SAP Systems, or Microsoft Project or cProjects files. You may add a link to an external object, search for a linked object or remove an existing link.

You navigate to this iView, by choosing Portfolio Management. In the item dashboard, select any item to open the overview. Then choose the Link to External Objects action link.

Prerequisites

You have defined the object link types in Customizing, by choosing SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP xRPM) Base System Interfaces Application Object Settings

Steps

Create a link to external object

...

       1.      Select the object type, for which you want to create a link, from the drop down list.

       2.      Click Add Objects.

       3.      Use the Object Link Search to select and link the object to the current item.

       4.      Click Save to make the change permanent.

To remove an object link

...

       1.      Select object link.

       2.      Click Remove to remove the link to the selected object.

       3.      Click Save to make the change permanent.

To search for an object link

Sort

You can sort the object links by columns. Click the heading of the column to sort in ascending order. Click again to sort in descending order.

Filter

The first row in the list, is for filtering. Enter a string of characters to filter the Objects containing the string. Enter search strings in multiple columns to narrow the search results. Special characters are not permitted.

Scroll

The triangles at the bottom of the displayed list facilitate scrolling. The three triangles pointing down help scroll down one row at a time, one page at a time and to the last page, respectively.  The three triangles pointing up perform the same function for scrolling upwards. These triangles are inactive if all object links fit within a page.

Export to Excel

Export to Microsoft Excel (right top corner above the list)

Here you can export list of select collections to Microsoft Excel.

...

       1.      Select the items from the list

       2.      Click Export to Microsoft Excel to access the Export view.

       3.      Click TableData.xls.

Select Object

The first column of each row has a checkbox which is used for selecting the object in that row.

      To select a single object from a list, click on the corresponding checkbox.

      To select multiple objects, hold down the Ctrl key and click the checkboxes corresponding to the objects.

      To select a block of objects, hold down the Shift key and check the first and last Object of the block.
