Function documentation Resource Search  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use the resource search function to find suitable and available project resources.

 

Integration

·        As search criteria, the search function uses all data required for the search from the project role. The search criteria can be changed in the search function without changing the attributes of the project role itself.

·        To be able to check availability, you require the Workforce Management Core (WFM Core) as an AddOn or connected as an external system.

 

Prerequisites

·        You created project roles in the Resources tab page of the Projects initial screen. For more information, see Project Roles and Creating a Project Role.

·        From the Projects initial view, choose the Resources tab page, then Find Resource. When on the Resources initial view you can perform searches that are not based on projects. For more information, see Project-Independent Search.

·        When using the Staffing Process, Candidate Managers choose the role from the worklist on the Worklist tab to launch a resource search. For more information, see Staffing Process.

 

Features

You can enter the following resource search criteria:

Note

You see a green checkmark when the search criteria is entered on one of the tab pages.

Candidates are always included in the search result, regardless of the selection criteria you enter or the resource’s suitability percentage. For more information, see:

Activities

When using Project Resource Planning (PRP) for direct staffing:

...

...

       1.      Enter the required search criteria in the General, Organizational Structure, Qualifications and Availability tab pages.

       2.      Choose Search Result

The system runs your search and you see the search results.

       3.      E-mail the chosen resource or their manager to inform them that you want to schedule the resource for your project.

       4.      Assign the resource directly to your project, or add it to your list of candidates.

When using PRP for the Staffing Process:

...

       1.      Enter the required search criteria in the General, Organizational Structure, Qualifications and Availability tab pages.

       2.      Choose Search Result

The system runs your search and you see the search results.

       3.      Candidate Mangers choose candidates from the results of the search.

       4.      Candidate Managers approve or reject candidates.

       5.      Staffing Managers assign the candidates to the project roles.
