Procedure documentation Assigning Tasks/Project Roles  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

You created tasks on the Structure tab page of the Projects initial view.

To assign project roles to these tasks, you have to meet the following prerequisites:

·        You have administration authorization for these tasks.

·        The validity period of a task does not overlap with the validity period of the project role.

·        You are in the Projects initial view on one of the following tab pages:

¡        Tab page Structure Roles view

Note

You see the Roles view only if you have your cursor on a task in the group box on the left in the project definition.

Procedure

You are on the Structure tab page Roles view:

...

       1.      Choose the project role or resource to which you want to assign the selected task.

       2.      Enter the period for which you want the role to be assigned.

       3.      Enter the amount of work that you want to assign to the role.

Note

The Project Roles with Assigned Tasks area displays how much work is planned for the current task and how much of this work has already been assigned. You can see this for each role. You can assign the total required capacity to one role or distribute it over various roles.

       4.      Save your data.

 

You are on the Resources tab page Tasks view:

...

       1.      Select the role to which you want to assign tasks in the screen area on the left.

       2.      Choose the task that you want to assign to the selected project role.

       3.      Choose Assign Project Role to assign the task to the project role or select a resource and choose Assign Resource, to assign the resource to the task directly.

       4.      Enter the period in which you want the task to be carried out.

       5.      Enter the amount of work that you want to assign to the role.

Note

The Tasks with Assigned Project Roles area displays how much work is planned for the current task and how much of this work has already been assigned. You can see this for each task. You can assign the total required capacity to one role or distribute it over various roles.

       6.      Save your data.
