The SAP Point-of-Sale (SAP POS) and point-of-sale (POS) client application now complies with AMEX CAPN and Visa 62.23 requirements. These changes, driven by AMEX and Visa, improve the tracking of transactions through the entire communications chain and provide support for changes to their systems for better processing.
The enhancements include:
Capturing Settlement Data within the transaction log file
Transnet captures the settlement data received in the response message in the transaction log. The settlement data is in the SettlementData
node in the response message. This data is stored in the authorization record A2
of the transaction
log.
Handling Partial Authorization at the POS client application
Partial authorization is supported based upon the amount authorized by the credit provider. The POS client application now validates whether the authorized amount is equal to the requested amount. If these amounts are equal, POS client application handles it as a full authorization. If the authorized amount is less than the requested amount, the POS client application handles it as a partial authorization. During partial authorization, SAP POS automatically uses the partially approved amount and returns back to the tender menu to allow the cashier to complete the transaction using an alternate method of payment.
