In this release, SAP POS has been enhanced to provide access to Manager Code functions based on cashier roles. The POS now supports up to 20 cashier role types. User authorization is performed to allow maximum flexibility in configuration so that if the Role-Based authorization passes and the cashier does not have enough authority they will not be allowed to perform that function.
Manager Codes that are not listed will not be available for any employee type. Manager overrides are not applicable to Role-Based access.
To enable this feature, select Employee
from the Administration
tab of the Configurator, then select Access
and New
to define the Employee Type, Manager Code and Employee
Access. Then, on the Terminal
tab of the Configurator, select Register Parameters
, and then select the Enable Employee Access Check:
checkbox on the General
tab.
Note
If a cashier is trying to invoke a Manager code that is not permitted based on their role, the POS will display an error message. Furthermore, if a cashier is trying to invoke a Manage Code that is permitted, but they do not have a sufficient authority level, the cashier will not be able to invoke the Manager Code (i.e. the authority level overrides the employee type).
