Function documentationUsing the POS Screen

After you log on you can enter transaction information.

Scanned article information appears on the Receiptscreen on the right side of the window. The identification header that runs across the top of the screen displays the terminal number, the cashier number, the transaction number, and transaction status indicator. Below that, on the left side of the window, the instructional box shows the next action that you should take in the transaction (enter an item or select options.) When all transaction items are entered the transaction is ready to be totaled, and the amount expected from the customer displays in the Totalbox. At the bottom of the screen, the Menubox shows all of the mapped transaction options shortcut keys. The Statusbar displays the system status or system prompt messages

Features

The Point-of-Sale has three types of menus:

  • Main menu

  • Item menu

  • Tender menu

Each menu is activated at a specific stage in a sales transaction and only appears on-screen at that stage. All menu options can be defined in the Store Configurator to display your required functions.

Activities

There are two ways to access menu options: the quick access method and the scroll method. The quick access method involves using predefined function keys which are set up in the Store Configurator. These are usually displayed on the screen and can be activated by touching the function button on the keyboard or a menu option on the touch screen. The scroll method involves scrolling through the list of options appearing either at the bottom or side of the screen using the page up or page down keys.

Most POS functions can be activated by hitting the appropriate function key on the keyboard or by touching the appropriate menu box option on the touch screen. The status bar shows diagnostic information on the server connection status and the mode the terminal is currently in (re-key mode, training mode, or alpha entry mode.)
