You can update the layaway database without affecting financial or item summary totals (financial totals are not saved). It can be used to update a database with existing layaways for a new store, or to re-enter layaways found to have invalid data. Re-entry is not allowed if the server is offline. When the Layaway Re-entry function is run, a menu of the following layaway functions is displayed: Layaway Sale, Layaway Payment, Layaway Pickup, Layaway Cancel, Layaway Payment Adjustment, Layaway Item Adjustment, Layaway Write-Off, Layaway Reactivate.

For a layaway sale re-entry, a prompt for a layaway number appears even if automatic number generation is being used. Any layaway number can be used, however when an existing layaway number is used the system expects you to confirm deletion of the original layaway transaction. This function also prompts for the original layaway date. When this information is provided, a layaway sale re-entry transaction can continue as a regular layaway sale. Re-entered layaway functions cannot be voided at a later date.
