A pending transaction is one that is started but not completed on the same day.

 

You can use the Advanced options to configure a pending transaction.

Description

Pending Transaction Group

Identifies the group this definition belongs to.

Group IDs are used to group pending transactions that share a similar feature for example, special orders.

Report Group

Identifies the report group this definition belongs to.

Reports can be generated for defined report groups.

Retention Period

Indicates how long the pending transaction item should be stored in the database.

Payment Schedule

Indicates when payments are expected.

Pending Transaction Behavior

Allow Zero Balance

Allows the pending transaction to remain open (that is, still pending) even if the transaction balance is zero.

Policy

Specifies the policy to print on receipts.

Descriptions

The following fields allow you to provide a heading to display on the POS for various aspects of the pending transaction. If you choose to use the same text as the field text, type the field text in the input field again.

Field headings are literal texts used by the POS. Literal texts can be supported in different languages.

For each of the following terms you can provide a new description by entering it in each of the following input fields:

  • Short (This is the abbreviated version for the pending transaction type, for example LWY for layaway)

  • Plural (This is the plural form of the pending transaction type, for example Layaways for layaway)

  • Pick Up

  • Cancel

  • Return

  • Bins

  • Pick Ups

  • Cancels

  • Returns

Service Charge

The following options set the service charge for the pending transaction.

If a prompt is not set the POS automatically adds a service charge.

The amount of the service charge.

Service Charge Percent

A percentage value of the transaction to calculate as a service charge.

Cancel Fee

The following options set the cancel fee for the pending transaction.
