This new feature will prevent a cashier form disabling the POS printer when there is a physical printer malfunction. Currently the POS provides the option to allow a cashier to complete a transaction without printing a receipt. This exposes the retailer to a potential loss prevention issue. This feature provides improved loss prevention control.
Effects on Configuration
To enable this feature, set the ALLOWPRINTERDISABLE
in POS.INI
to N
(default is Y
). When enabled, the POS will no longer ask if the cashier would like to disable the
printer, instead, the POS will display the error message and attempt to re-initialize the printer once the cashier acknowledges the error by pressing any key.
