This release for SAP POS allows the POS application to support cashier accountability for up to eight cashiers working on a terminal simultaneously. This is done by creating up to four “cash boxes” in each of the cash drawers and automatically assigning cashiers to cash boxes within the cash drawer.
The POS provides a centralized repository of cash drawer assignments in the BACKOFF.DB
database. The Cashier Sign-on Report (Manager Code 366) can be used to print a listing of the local cash drawer assignment for the register where the report is being run or
for all cash drawer assignments in the store if the register is connected to the primary Xpress Server.
If you choose to enable this feature, the following Configurator options must be selected/deselected:
Select Register Parameters
from the Terminal
tab of the Configurator and then select the Sign On
tab. From this tab in the Register Parameters Maintenance
window
Select the Automatic
option from the Assign Cashier to Drawer:
drop down list to have the cashier assigned to the next available cash box and cash drawer. The next available cash box is assigned in the cash drawer containing
the most available cash boxes. If this is the same in both cash drawers, the next available cash box in the first cash drawer will be assigned.
Select the Multiple Cash Boxes Per Cash Drawer:
checkbox.
Select Register Parameters
from the Terminal
tab of the Configurator and then select the General
tab. From this tab in the Register Parameters Maintenance
window,
select the Clear Drawer Assignment At EOD:
checkbox.
Select Employee
from the Administration
tab of the Configurator and then select the Employee
. From the Employee Maintenance
window, select the Allow
Drawer Assignment On Multiple Registers:
checkbox if you would like to allow a cashier to be assigned to cash boxes on multiple registers.
If you have configured Multiple Cash Boxes Per Cash Drawer
, Manager Code 2 (Peripheral Define) will include a prompt for the number of cash boxes (up to a maximum of four) per cash drawer. Each cash drawer may be configured with a different number of cash boxes.
