Function documentationCustomizing for Customer Information Windows

SAP POS provides a feature that displays customer information on the POS screen during a transaction. This allows the retailer to develop a more profitable relationship with your customer. You can trigger the information to display when a loyalty card is swiped, or by manually entering their customer number. You can select the information elements to display such as the customer name, address, telephone number, or date of the last visit in the Configurator application. You can configure the format and layout of the customer information window by using the terminal display options described in this section. For more information about setting terminal display options, see the Advanced Layout Feature. To activate the customer information display feature, you must configure the following:

  • Customer Database settings — You make these settings in the SAP POS Configurator application. These settings determine which fields in the Allegiance database are displayed. The selected fields are displayed in a new Customer Window tab page, which available in the terminal layout function in the POS client application. From the list, you can select the fields to display on the screen.

  • Manager code 40 (Screen Layout and Design) in the POS client application — This activates the POS screen layout and design functions. You use the Customer Window tab page to format the customer display window. You select the Make Visible option so that you can edit the layout features. For a detailed procedure on how to use Manager code 40, see Using Manager Code 40.

    Note Note

To customize the touch screen, use manager code 40.

    End of the note.
Creating a slide show

You can create a slide show for the POS client screen or to use as a screen saver. The images can be displayed on the main screen, in the graphic window of a secondary monitor, and as a screen saver on both screens.

  • Activating a slide show — You can define a slide show by using the Slide Show tab page on the Advanced Layout window, and then you activate the slide show on the Graphics tab page.

  • Using the slide show as a screen saver — The slide show that you define on the Slide Show tab page can also be used as a screen saver. To prevent the screen saver from launching during a transaction, we recommend that you set the Only between transactions option.
