As of SP07, the PinpadProcessApprovalCode method of the PIN Pad User Exit has been enhanced to support two additional parameters. The new parameters allow a PIN Pad User Exit implementation to return the following information to SAP POS:

  1. The Cardholder Verification Method (CVM) that was used to confirm that the customer presenting a payment card is the rightful owner of that card. A typical CVM would be the entry of the customer’s PIN.

  2. A flag indicating whether or not the customer’s signature is required to be obtained.

This information is not used directly by SAP POS. It is made available to the Services User Exit via enhancements to that interface. The Services User Exit can use this information, for example, to control the printing of signature lines on receipts. Refer to the SAP POS 2.3 PIN Pad User Exit Technical Reference Guide for further details.
