You use the PLU pricing parameters to perform the following actions:

  • Track competitor prices for items

  • Configure details for item price or item shelf stickers

  • Link a PLU item to an inventory group

  • Control if any PLU-related information can be changed at the POS.

Price Label Format ID

Allows you to choose a price label format for an item

Inventory Group ID

Identifies the inventory group to which this PLU item belongs

Inventory groups allow you to group similar PLU items with different SKU numbers based on a common department or item category, such as stationery.

Supplemental Length ID

If the bar code for this PLU record is configured to prompt for a supplemental number when the item is entered at the POS, this option allows you to indicate the length of the supplemental number. The supplemental number entered must match in length the number of characters specified in this field.

Ordering Number

Can be used for inventory and order tracking

For information purposes only.

Used By Days

For tracking purposes, allows you to indicate the number of days by which an item must be used.

Secondary PLU Description

Shows the secondary description for this PLU item

Note Note

To display the secondary description with a generic description, you must enable the Include Secondary Description option in the PLU Configuration Maintenance screen and set the length of the description in the Secondary Description field.

Change Mode Indicator

Allows you to indicate whether information about the PLU item can be changed at the store, or only at the head office

Price Change Indicator

Allows you to indicate whether the price of an item can be changed at the store, or only at the head office

Dept. Change Indicator

Allows changes to be made to the department number associated with a PLU record at the store. If you do not wish to allow a store to make changes to the PLU department information, choose HO Dept. Changes Only.

Note Note

When this option is set to allow a store to make changes to the department number associated with a PLU record, the Allow Dept. Upd. option is enabled in the PLU Maintenance screen in the Store Manager application.

Measurement Indicator

Indicates that the item must be weighed or that a fixed measurement is required for this item. This information may be required by some third-party applications.
