The Mobile Point of Sale is a wireless client running on a separate piece of handheld hardware such as a pocket PC or a wireless device, it requires an active connection to a dedicated POS terminal to drive its functionality. The Mobile POS Client can be a very useful tool for servicing your retail customers on the sales floor.

Integration

The Mobile Point of Sale needs a permanent wireless online connection to the SAP POS Mobile Server located in the store.

Features

  • Full Item Inquiry

SAP POS has a Price Inquiry function that supports scanning a product for the product description and price. A new Full Item Inquiry has been introduced that provides inquiry capabilities in greater detail. Some of the new item options include SKU number, SKU description, Department, Vendor, Cross Reference, Current On Hand, On Order, Last Received and more. This feature is also supported in the mobile POS.

  • In-Stock Product Research

A new function has been added which allows the cashier to scan a number of items using a wireless hand held device and produce a batch of items to query. A report can then be run on the batch in the Store Manager (In Stock Research) to view the inventory status of the scanned items: On Hand, On Hand/Zero On Hand and/or Zero Order/ Zero On Hand. This report is useful for keeping close tabs on items in and out of stock using a very simple-to-use method.

  • Quantity for Receiving on Mobile POS

A new menu option has been added to the Receiving function of the Mobile POS solution to define how quantities of products can be entered. The configurable options include: defaulting to quantity one, prompting for the quantity or toggling between prompting for quantity and defaulting to one. This particular function can make Inventory Counts much easier and efficient by simply scanning each unit or using the quantity key for multiple units of the same product.
