These options allow you to:

  • Set the minimum and maximum number of characters for various types of information that can be entered at the POS terminal, such as the length of a cashier’s ID and password

  • Define authority levels to enable employees to perform specific actions, such as the authority level for the supervisor functions

Structure

The following Min/Max Digits options allow you to set the minimum and maximum number of characters that can be entered at the POS terminal for these items:

  • Cashier ID Max 8 Digits

  • Credit Authorization Number

  • Customer Number

  • Dept/Class

  • For Quantity

  • Price

  • Salesperson Number Max 8 Digits

  • Store Number Between 4 and 6 Digits

  • Quantity

In addition to specifying the Min/Max Digits, you have the option to select a predefined Check Digit scheme for the following items:

  • Document #

  • Employee #

  • Pending Transaction #

  • UPC/SKU

The following Min/Max Digits options allow you to set the number of characters (rather than the range of characters) that can be entered at the POS terminal for these items:

  • Maximum Number of MRP Prices Displayed — This option supports the Maximum Retail Price feature. You can configure the POS to display up to 12 MRP prices per item. They are displayed in order of the most recent price. The cashier selects the price that appears on the item package from the list of displayed prices.

  • Quantity

  • PLU User Flag

  • Decimals

Authority Level Options

Supervisor Functions

Allows you to assign an authority level for the supervisor functions

Assume Manager Sign On

Allows you to specify that managers bypass the prompts at the POS when they logon and go directly to the Enter Manager Number prompt

POS Functions

Allows you to assign an authority level for the POS functions

Manager Overrides

Allows you to assign an authority level for the manager overrides

Secure Supervisor Auth

Allows you to specify whether an extra supervisor override is required if the currently logged on cashier also has supervisor authority. The POS prompts for supervisor logon even though the current cashier has supervisor authority. The supervisor that logs on must be different than the currently logged on cashier.
