This release of SAP POS has been modified to allow items to be sold at certain groups of registers within a store and conversely to disallow other items from being sold at a group of registers. This will allow retailers to have “stores within a store”.
If you would like to enable this feature, select Register Parameters
from the Terminal
tab of the Configurator, then select the General
tab. From this tab in the Register Parameters Maintenance
window,
select the Enable Item Sale Restriction By Register:
checkbox in the Item Sale Restriction
section. Once this option is set, the SALEREST.ASC
can be generated. This file will act as a “Do Not Sell List” for
certain departments on individual registers.
If the terminal type, as defined in the Terminal Define function (Manager Code 6), and the department for a given PLU match, the POS will not allow the sale of the item.
Note
If the database is not connected during a transaction, this validation will not occur and the register will be permitted to sell any item. If the register is configured to Local PLU and the database is connected, this feature will work as expected.
