Services are external processes that allow you to process nonstandard transactions at the POS. Examples of such processes are adding minutes to a cell phone, making a payment for an airline reservation, making a payment for a credit card bill, and making a payment for a cable bill.
A Services Extension is an external component that implements the various services required by a retail customer. A Services Extension is implemented as a DLL (Dynamic Link Library - *.dll). You can develop your own implementation of a Services Extension.
The Services User Exit exposes the POS functionality by providing an XML interface that can be used by the extension. The Services User Exit exposes several POS functions that allow the extension to get operator input, display information on the POS, print information, store information in the TLog, and perform host authorizations.
