You can print data in the header and footer sections of a receipt. The data can be information on the store, seasonal greetings, or promotional notices. You can also print logos or other images at the top and at the bottom of a receipt. You configure the printing of data, logos, or other images in the Register Parameters Maintenance screen.

Procedure

Define and Modify Headers and Footers

To define and modify the header or trailer printed on a receipt:

  1. On the Register Parameters Search screen, select Receipt Logos.

  2. Open a record for a specific region to modify the default region.

    You see the Receipt Logo screen. The Receipt Logo screen has a Header Line area and a Trailer Line area. You can enter up to five lines each for headers and trailers.

  3. Within the Header Line area, enter the information that you want printed on the header of the receipt; for example, company name and address. You can also utilize special characters that allow you to include specific information when the receipt is printed; for example, store number and register number:

  4. Within the Trailer Line area, enter the information that you want printed on the trailer of the receipt; for example, a greeting or a promotion notice. Again, you can use special characters in trailer lines.

  5. When complete, save your entries.

Define Transaction Identification Information for a Receipt Footer

You can create up to three print lines in the receipt footer to display specific transaction identification information. These lines are valid for both customer and store receipts. If you do not define specific information here, then default information is used in the footer.

  1. On the Register Parameters Search screen, select Register Parameter.

  2. For a new entry, click New, to maintain a current entry, select the entry and click Open.

    You see the Register Parameters Maintenance screen.

  3. To specify the transaction identification information that you want to print in the receipt footer, go to the Customer Transaction Identification Lines section.

  4. In the three Identification Line fields, enter the transaction identification information that you want printed in the receipt footer. You can use special characters (see table above) in these lines.

  5. When complete, save your entries.

Print Logos and Other Images on Receipts

You can print logos and other images at the top and at the bottom of a receipt.

  1. Create one or two bitmap files of the logo or image that you want to print, naming the first file rcptlogo.bmp and the second file rcp2logo.bmp.

  2. Move the files to \Parm directory in the XPress Server.

  3. On the Register Parameters Search screen, select Register Parameter.

  4. For a new entry, click New. To maintain a current entry, select the entry and click Open.

    You see the Register Parameters Maintenance screen.

  5. To specify the location where you want to print the first logo, in the Receipt Options area, for the Graphic 1 field, select one of the following options.

    • Print at Bottom

    • Print at Top

    • Print at Top & Bottom

    None is the default option. To print a logo on a receipt, select one of the three locations listed above.

    To specify the location where you want to print the second logo, repeat this selection step for the Graphic 2 field.

    Note Note

    if you want to print two different logos or images, you cannot specify the same location for the Graphic 1 and the Graphic 2 fields.

  6. Click Save; then click Close.

    Logo printing is now enabled for the receipt.
