A pending transaction is one that is started but not completed on the same day.

 

You can use the Basic options to configure a pending transaction.

Description

Enable Pending Transactions

Activates the Pending Transactions function at the POS.

Writeoff Hold Days

The maximum number of days merchandise can be held.

No. Of Bin Locations

The number of bin locations where pending transaction merchandise items may be kept.

Auto Gen Pending Trans #

Specifies whether the system should increment the pending transaction reference number by 1 or randomly generate a reference number.

Check Digit

Validates the generated pending transaction numbers

Prompt For Pickup Date

Prompts for a pickup date when a pending transaction is created in the system.

Prompt For Pickup Time

Prompts for a pickup time when a pending transaction is created in the system.

Verify Before Pickup

Verifies a pending transaction (manager code 298) before it is picked up.

Verify After Item Adjust

Verifies a pending transaction (manager code 298) after an item adjustment before it is picked up.

Disallow Regular Sale From Pickup

Prevents the cashier from pressing ESC on the Tender menu for a Pending Transaction Pickup transaction to enter into a Regular Sale Transaction. When you check this check box the cashier is forced to finish tendering the Pending Transaction Pickup.

At Time of Sale Calculate Pricing

Calculates pricing in the following ways at the time of the pending transaction sale:

  • 1 – At Date/Time of Entry

  • 2 – At Date/Time of Entered Pickup Date

    If you select this option, future pricing tables are used to calculate the price.

At Time of Pickup Calculate Pricing

Calculates pricing in the following ways at the time of the transaction pickup:

  • 1 - At Date/Time of Entry (pricing remains unchanged)

  • 2 - At Current Pickup Date/Time (repriced with current pricing)

  • 3 - Best Price (Sale or Pickup) Date/Time (best price is calculated)

Recognize Revenue At Pickup

Indicates that revenue for the transaction should be generated when the merchandise is picked up.

Recognize Revenue At Sale

Indicates that revenue for the transaction should be generated when the merchandise is sold.

Pending Transactions Behavior

Allow Item Add

Allows a new item such as a pending transaction item adjustment to be added to an existing pending transaction.

Allow Item Remove

Allows an item to be removed from an existing pending transaction.

Allow Mixmatch

Triggers best price calculation for items grouped in a Mixmatch definition.

Allow Promotion

Applies promotional pricing within a pending transaction.

Allow Item Discount

Allows discounts to be applied to individual items within a pending transaction.

Allow Transaction Discount

Allows discounts to be applied to all items in a pending transaction.

Prompt to Print Statement

Prompts whether to print the pending transaction statement.

Allow Partial Pickup

Allows a partial pickup of items in the pending transaction.

Customer Database

Screen Element

Description

Customer Name Required

Prompts for the customer name when the pending transaction is initiated.

Phone Required

Prompts for the customer phone number when the pending transaction is initiated.

Customer Database Required

Cancels the transaction if the customer information is not found.

Access Method

Indicates how customer information should be referenced by the POS terminal

The options are:

  • By number

  • By customer name

  • By phone number

  • By CDB (Customer Database) reference number

Retain Detail

Keeps detail information for certain pending transaction items instead of summary information only.

Apply Best Price at Pick Up

Charges the lower price if the price of the item the customer purchased changed when they came to pick it up.
