Suggested items are merchandise, or non-merchandise, items that are displayed to the cashier on the POS screen when specific items are sold (for example, complimentary items). The cashier can choose to make a selection from the list or press ESC to continue without selecting a suggested item. If the cashier selects items from the list, the selected items are added to the sale transaction. Suggested items are configured in the Configurator application; for more information about configuring suggested items, see Register Parameters: General.

 

You use the Suggested Item Selection window to add, modify, and delete suggested items for primary PLU’s. If you edit an existing rule or create a new rule, the following fields can be edited:

Screen Element

Description

PLU

Enter the PLU number in this field when you create a new primary PLU.

Item Type

Choose Non-Merch for a non-merchandise item, or PLU for a merchandise item, from the drop-down list.

Suggested Item ID

Enter the item ID.

Percentage of PLU

Enter the percentage of the primary PLU’s price to charge for suggested non-merchandise item.

Priority Ranking of Suggested Item

Enter a value from 0 to 99 to define the ranking, of the suggested item, in importance of being shown.
