A communication party (party for short) represents a larger unit, which is involved in a collaborative process. Using a communication party, you generally address a company within a business-to-business process.

You can assign a communication party one or more communication components to address it as the sender or receiver of messages.

You can specify alternative identifiers for the communication party so that communication party can be identified by using different, globally valid IDs.

For more information, see: Communication party

Procedure

Create Communication Party

Create the communication party.

For more information, see: Create Objects

Enter a name for the communication party. The party is then identified within the Integration Directory by means of this name.

Specify Alternative Identifier

On the Identifiers tab page, the name of the party that was assigned during creation is specified in the first row (Name column).

Note Note

The uniqueness of the internal party name is highlighted in the fact that the name that is given during creation is unique within the identification schema XIParty (agency http://sap.com/xi/XI).

End of the note.

To specify additional, alternative identifiers, proceed as follows.

  1. Insert a new row.
