You can use one or multiple process component interaction models from the Enterprise Services Repository as a template for configuration. The system uses the information saved in the models, together with additional assignments, to calculate the relevant configuration objects. The system creates the determined configuration objects or assesses the usability of existing configuration objects and groups these in a configuration scenario.

Procedure

To configure one or multiple process component interaction models, perform the following steps:

1. Call the Model Configurator and Select Model(s)

  1. In the main menu bar of the Integration Directory, choose   Tools   Use Model from ES Repository  .

    A wizard starts.

    If you have already created a configuration scenario for the configuration of your process, you can also call the function from the object menu list of the configuration scenario.

  2. Choose SAP Process Component Interaction Model (radio button) under Type of ES Repository Model.

    Process variant type models are not supported at this time.

  3. Under ES Repository Model Reference(s) select the process component interaction models from the ES Repository.

    First add a row to the table and select input help (for the Name field). Select the required model and choose Apply.

    Add another table row for each other model that you want to add to the configuration model.

  4. Choose Continue.

  5. Specify a name for the configuration scenario to which your configuration objects are to be assigned.

  6. Choose Finish.

  7. Choose Close.

The model configurator is called, the models are loaded from the ES Repository.

One of the selected process component interaction models are displayed in a screen area.

2. Assign Communication Components

Assign communication components to the process components of the model. In this way, you map the participants in a process displayed in the model to actual senders and receivers of messages in your system landscape.

3. Configure Connections

Activate sender/receiver relations for the connections between the process components. The system calculates the relevant configuration objects.

4. Generate Configuration Objects

Depending on your configuration settings, the system determines the configuration objects required. If a configuration object that is required already exists in the Integration Directory, the system assigns this object to the configuration scenario. If necessary, an object that already exists is enhanced. Otherwise the object is created.

You can simulate generation for test purposes.

5. Analyze Generation Log and Edit Objects Manually

Analyze the generation log created at the end of the configuration process.

A generation log provides you with an overview of all changes made in the Integration Directory as a result of the configuration of the model. It informs you which configuration objects have been created or reused. The generation log enables you to recognize which configuration objects require manual work.

6. Activate Configuration Objects

Activate the generated configuration objects.

The generated objects are in the change list that you defined in the generation settings.
