Use this function to assign communication components to the process components of the model.

For connections where an internal process component communicates with an external one (usually in B2B scenarios), you can also specify communication parties as external representatives for internal business systems.

Which types of communication components you can assign depends on the process component and the type of connection with another process component.

Assignable Communication Components/Communication Parties

Process Component Type

Assignable Communication Components

Internal process component (that communicates with an internal process component)

Business System Components

Internal process component (that communicates with an external process component)

Business System Components

Communication Party

Only once you have selected a business system component for the internal process component is the field for the communication party ready for input.

The communication party reacts as external representative of the business system.

External process component

Communication party

Note Note

If an internal process component has at least one connection to an external process component, use communication parties as neutral representatives for communication with the external party. With the assignments between communication parties and business system you specify which business systems are mapped from you internal system landscape to which (externally visible) communication parties: The Header Mapping is then formed correspondingly in the generated receiver agreement.

End of the note.

Procedure

In the interactive model graphic click on the process component in the header area that you want to assign communication components to.

Tab pages appear below the model graphic in which you can make the assignments. The navigation arrows ( and ) enable you to navigate between the process components of the model.

Depending on the type of process component, you can perform the following tasks.

Once you have made the necessary entries, confirm them by choosing Assign.
