The tasks that you must perform when you configure in the Integration Directory are structured and organized according to configuration objects.
In this section you will find an overview of which configuration objects are relevant for the different configuration tasks.
The relevant tasks and configuration objects depend on the communication type:
Integration Server communication
An Integration Server is used for processing messages between the sender and receiver.
More information: Configuration Objects (Integration Server Communication)
Communication using the Advanced Adapter Engine
Message processing takes place on the Advanced Adapter Engine.

Direct communication
Sender and receiver communicate directly with each other.

There are also the following additional configuration objects:
Value mapping

Configuration scenario
Groups all configuration objects that are relevant for the same process. The configuration scenario also contains a graphic representation of the actual configuration.

Configuration objects are identified uniquely in the Integration Directory using object keys.
