Use

You perform the following steps to assign communication components to the application components of the process integration scenario.

Which communication components you can assign depends on how you defined the application component when you designed the process integration scenario.

Note

In the following, application components of type External Party with B2B Communication are B2B Components.

Application components that are not B2B components are Internal Application Components.

Application Component

Assignable Communication Components

Internal application component (without assigned integration process)

One or more business system components.

One or more business components (only if the application component has at least one connection to a B2B component; in this case, the assignments between the business components and business system components must match)

Internal application component (with assigned integration process)

Exactly one integration process component

Exactly one business component (only if the application component has at least one connection to a B2B component; in this case, the assignment between the business component and integration process component must match)

B2B Component

One or more business components.

If an internal application component has at least one connection to a B2B component, use business components as neutral representatives for communication with the external party. The assignments between business components and business system components, and between business components and integration process components define which business systems or integration processes from your internal system landscape are mapped to which (externally visible) business services: this results in an appropriate header mapping in the receiver agreement that is generated.

Procedure

To call the function for assigning communication components, choose Assign Components (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

A screen area is displayed in which you can make your assignments for the selected application component. The navigation arrows (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) enable you to navigate between the application components in the integration scenario.

Depending on the type of application component, you can perform the following activities.

Once you have made the necessary entries, confirm them by choosing Assign.
