Business events can be used to trigger actions or to signal important incidents to other business processes. In an event-driven scenario, the event is triggered by the event provider, which is the business application. You can use the tool for monitoring processed XML messages to obtain information about the raised event messages.

Prerequisites

The event provider and event consumer have been created and configured.

Procedure

  1. Start transaction SXI_MONITOR.

  2. Choose the Advanced Selection Criteria tab.

  3. In the Logical Pipeline ID field, enter EVENT.

You can also select this value using the value help.

  4. Choose Execute (Execute).

Result

The system performs a search and displays the available parent event messages. You can find more information about the events in one of the following ways:

  • To view the child event messages for a particular entry in the list, select the parent messages and choose Referencing Messages.

  • To view the event parameters of a message, double-click a message in the list.

You can find the EV_ID, EV_DATETIME, and EV_DATASTRING event parameters in the upper-right part of the message view.
