Use this procedure to enable users to manage corporate and personalized e-mail signatures. When this feature is enabled, the system automatically appends a signature with a new e-mail message. The signatures are created and modified in a simple HTML editor, allowing the user to format the signature (for example, bold, italic, bullets, and so on). When you save the e-mail signature that you have modified, it is stored as UME attributes in HTML format and in plain text format. The storing of the signature as a UME attribute in HTML format, and the conversion to plain text take place simultaneously. More information: Logical Attributes.

Prerequisites

To enable this feature, you must have permissions to assign the appropriate actions to roles. For example, to assign users to a role, you must have the rights to manage both users and roles. More information: Managing Users, Groups, and Roles.

Procedure

  1. Start identity management. More information: Identity Management.

  2. Assign UME actions for e-mail signature to roles that you want to support e-mail signatures. More information: Assigning Principals to Roles or Groups.
